How to Iron a Shirt Step by Step (with pictures)

How to iron a shirt step by step

Ironing is one of those chores that few people enjoy doing. Truth is that it is neither pleasant or appealing as it can get monotonous. But it doesnt mean that it can be difficult as well. I therefore asked my mom to show me how to iron a shirt since it takes her 30-35 seconds to do it.

So here it is step by step. And let me tell you if I can do it so can you!

Throughout the process press the steam button. This helps ironing the shirt faster and better.

Step 1:

Iron the collar first from outside and then from inside.

Step 2:

Fit the shirt on the iron as shown on the picture. The shoulder of the shirt must be fitted on the rounded part of the board. Begin with the side with no buttons and iron it.

Step 3:

Proceed by dragging the shirt towards you 3/4 of it at a time and ironing it each time until you reach the side with the buttons.

extra tip: To easily iron the line of buttons simply flip over the shirt and iron from the opposite side :)

Step 4:

On the round part of the board place the shirt's shoulder's one at a time and iron them.

Step 5:

Place the sleeves on the board and straighten them. Iron each sleeve from both sides.

Step 6:

Hang the shirt on a hanger. Button the 2nd or 3rd button so it remains in place.

Done!!!!

PS:

Always keep in mind that while the shirt is wet hang it so that when it dries it is as straight as possible. A lot less effort to iron it will make your life a lot easier! :)
