Trip Advice!

So it's summer and like most people we are getting ready for vacations! Being a good housekeeper also means being able to organize your trip to make your life and trip easier! This is also important when you travel with limitations like bag size or kilos.

Since George and I are going on a 1-week trip to Crete I decided to compile a list of some useful tips for you:

1. Plan ahead. We started saving money (whatever we could spare) since last September. We also reserved our tickets and hotel early on. Right now, we have successfully covered the cost for the tickets, hotel, car rental and we are left with some extra money!

2. Know your bag size! We are travelling with Ryanair so we are only allowed 10 kg each plus one extra up to 15 kg. The plan is to take the 15 kg bag and 2 extra handbags that we can fold inside the larger one. This way we have as little luggage as possible to carry and in case we do not need the extra space we can just leave them in there folded :)

3. Take what is absolutely necessary! I know that a lot of things seem necessary but ask yourselves; Will you really need them? Make a list so you wont forget any REALLY important items! Here's mine!

2-pairs of trousers (preferably jeans)
6-7 tops
1 jacket
2-3 pairs of shoes MAX! sandals and trainers (you never know what weather you will find!
1 beach towel for each
swimsuit
bathroom items (toothbrush, hairbrush, etc)
underwear (1 for each day + 1 extra!)

Less is more! Less items is more space for what you will shop! And remember, if you forget something you can always buy it there!

4. Use websites like tripadvisor to determine which places are most worth visiting! Real people's reviews are very helpful in deciding restaurants, hotels and places to go.

5. Before you leave the house make sure you leave it as tidy and clean as possible. Try not to leave milk or bread that will spoil until your return. This will make your return easier.

6. Always be careful with your personal items! Enjoy your vacations the most but watch your items so you can enjoy your return back home!
